The latest Gator Gazette.
Hi Gator Families going to Finals!
First of all, congratulations to all those who qualified. We are so proud of you.
Warm-ups are at 7:10 in the warm-up pool at Stonegate. You MUST be there no later than 7 a.m., but if you could get there before then, that would be great. Finals, despite only having two heats of everything, is normally a longer meet. It will last until about 2 or 3 p.m. Don't forget sunscreen, fruit, water, and extra caps and goggles.
Good luck and swim fast!
-Haley
Hi Gators!
We just wanted to let all of you know how proud we are of you! Every single one of you has done a great job this season. We loved seeing all your bright and smiling faces at practices and meets. You all worked so hard and were so dedicated to the team. Despite our pool fiasco, you all hung with the team and showed greater commitment than we could ever imagine. So many of you dropped time between meets and at pre-lims, which was extremely rewarding for all of us to see. We hope that you all return next season, and if not, we hope you are doing something that you love!
Hopefully we will see you at the banquet on Sunday night. If not, have a great rest of your summer! It has truly been a blessing coaching each and every one of you.
Take care and good luck!
Sincerely,
Your Coaches
Haley, Matt, Kenneth, Jonathan, Jordan, and Brittany
At Finals, there is a competition between the teams to see which team can collect the most non-perishable food for donation to a food pantry. Keep a receipt or list and it is tax deductible. There is a prize for the team that donates the most items.
The items most in demand are:
Tuna fish
PB and J
Spaghetti sauce and noodles
Diapers
Formula
Baby Food
And everything else!
We’re an affluent neighborhood with a great swim team, so let’s show everyone how great we can be both in and out of the water!
Best of luck to everyone,
Lisa Bessen
Hi, Gator Parents--
Attached is a list of the volunteer jobs for finals which the league has assigned to us. If you have a child swimming at finals on Saturday, please respond to this e-mail to let me know how you can help. I'll send out the list again, probably on Friday, after it is all filled up!
Congratulation to those swimmers who have already competed in prelims. We saw lots of "personal best times". Way to go Gators! Good luck to the 11-12's tomorrow!
Thanks,
Karen Mayo

Hi Gator Families!
Please remember that there is no practice tomorrow, July 4. There WILL BE practice next week, with the exception of Tuesday because HG is hosting the 13-18 prelims. The practice schedule is in the Gator Gazette that's posted on our website.
For prelims, if your child is signed up, they must be there! If they scratch from one event, they scratch from the whole meet. So please make sure your child is there for warm-ups and on time for all their events.
Monday is the 8&under prelims at CCV. The warm-ups are at 6:30, so please be there at 6:15 a.m.
Tuesday is 13-18 prelims at HG. Warm-ups are at 6:25, so please be there at 6:10.
Wednesday is 9-10 prelims at Homestead. Warm-ups are at 6:25, so please be there by 6:10.
Thursday is 11-12 prelims at Homestead Farms 2. Warm-ups are at 6:25 so please be there by 6:10.
There is practice on Friday, Finals on Saturday at Stonegate, and the end of the year banquet on Sunday. If you have any pictures, please e-mail them to Jonathan at cooljon1322@comcast.net so he can put the slide show together.
If your child doesn't make the top 18 (#17 and 18 are alternates), they do not have to come to practice the rest of the week. If your child really wants to swim they are more than welcome to come. But, please keep in mind that our focus will be on those kids swimming at finals. If you have 6 & unders that can't swim on their own, just know that the coaches probably won't be getting in the water with them.
I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July weekend. Good luck at pre-lims. Swim fast and do your best!
Sincerely,
Haley

Dear Gator Parents
My name is Devon Smith and I am a co-captain of a team for an American Cancer Society sponsored event called Relay for Life. My friend Kelly and I are the captains of 12 girls raising money to support the fight against cancer before the Relay for Life event held in Hudson Gardens on August 1st and 2nd. In order to raise as much money as we can we are hosting a few fundraisers. On July 19 at 7981 South Eudora Circle from 1 to 4 there will be a drawing and event to support the American Cancer Society. There is a five-dollar entrance fee for the event including volleyball, Wii, Rockband, a movie, billiards and air hockey. A drawing will also be held and tickets will be sold from now until the event. The prize items include gift certificates to places like Big Bills, Cookies by Design, Los Dos Potrillos, Licks, and many more. Also if anyone is interested in donating directly to the American Cancer Society your donation will be tax deductible and much appreciated. If anyone knows someone who has died from Cancer or is Fighting Cancer, for ten dollars you can buy a luminaria in support of that person. A luminaria is a bag that is decorated in a person's name to honor and support their fight against cancer. At the event on August 1st and 2nd the luminarias will be arranged in a specific shape and there will be a ceremony supporting those fighting cancer and honoring those who have died from this horrible disease. The American Cancer Society is a non-profit very close to my heart because I have lost numerous relatives to cancer and my aunt lost her leg to bone cancer. Please, help us make a difference and save lives. If you would like to check out the web sight for Relay for Life and donate online the web site is www.rfllittleton.com. Our team name is the winged visions and we would greatly appreciate your support. Thanks you so much for your time and I hope you decide to support this amazing organization.
Sincerely
Devon Smith
